If you haven't already installed the Windows VPN tool from the Windows Setup portion of Add/Remove Programs, then you will need to follow these steps to enable the Personal VPN.

You may need to have your Windows 98 or Windows Me install disks handy.

.Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel.
.Double-Click on Add/Remove Programs.
.Click the Windows Setup tab.
.Click on Communications from that list and press the Details button at the bottom.
.The Communications box will appear and you will have a choice that says Virtual Private Networking.
.Put a Check next to Virtual Private Networking.
.Press OK at the bottom of your screen.
.Press Apply at the bottom of the next screen.
.Windows will begin installing the Virtual Private Networking. It may ask for the Windows Setup Disk at this point. Insert the disk or point the prompt to the local folder where the Windows Setup Files are located and press OK. (These local files are frequently called "Cabs" and are usually found in the Windows/Cabs or Windows/Options/Cabs folder.)
.The files will install and it will ask you to restart the computer.
.Choose Yes to restart the computer.
